Insuring: the Contingent. . Melboubne, November 30. —The Victorian Cabinet. has refused the offer of an Insurance Company to insure the Transvaal Contingent and will make provision in <the Estimates, Dastardly outrage. Melbourne, November 30. — Another .attempt has been made to wreck the Elstermvick train, this is the third attempt within three weeks. v , " Epidemic of fires. Sydney, November 30. — Aja epidemic of fires has occurred ; i several business places were destroyed at Moree-and Broken Hill. A great fire is raging at Warren; already between 30 and 40 buildings have been swept away, including four hotels^ and three large stores forming the best buildings of the town. The fire originated in some stables and devasted both sides of the main street. The damage is estimated at about £50,000. A fire at Wyalong destroyed 23 business places and one man was seriously injured.
