A glance through luj pedigree will convince the student that he comprises the best strains of blood to be found in the " Stud Book," being a combination of the much-prized Riddleswoeth line with that ot the mighty Musket. Ariel, PUREPO'S sire, was one of the best horses over all distances that the Colonial turf has seen, and the winner of the Auckland Cup three times. PUKEPO himself was also a good one while ou the turf. As a 2-year-old he had two seconds. As a 3-jrear-old he was rapidly running into form when the season closed. His second to Primrose in the Napier Park Cup and his subsequent victory in the B.C. Handicap on the second 3ay were both run in very fast time.
