The Londqi paper 3 have managed t-J preserve perfect seriousness in their treatment of a suit For libel and trespass recently brought by the owner of Nelson's old ship, the Foudroyant, against the patent medicine manufacturer who caused to be painted on the side of tbe vessel, in huge letters, the statement that " England expects every man to do his dutj and take -'s Pills." When tbe sol p was driven aa'iora at B'ackpool last year, a man whose trade it is to laud this particular remedy, considered that he had before him the chance of a lifetime, so be went before daylight and performed his unholy work. The result was a suit for one thousand pounds. Tbe pill maker held that his agent acted wholly without authority, but a verdict of fjfty poundg was rendered against him, and the "artist" was fined forty shillings. And now the papers say that "an attampt to copy American adrert ring methods " has been properly puoished.
