NEARLY DROWNED BY A BULLOCK.
Mrs Fosella, of Levin, met with a serious adventvre last Sunday afternoon. She was walking with others along the sawmill tramline from Ihakara's Reserve to tbe Kereru railway station, wben a bullock charged out of the butth into the midst of tbe party. Mrs Fosella was caught by the beast and thrown down, the animal falling upon her. As his horns were entangled in Mrs Fusel la's dress, *he was dragged into the deep swamp alongside. Finally, after trampling upon the fallen woman, the bullock freed itself aod made off iuto tbe bush again. Mis Fosella is very seriously truisei and shaken, and is confined to her bed, being unable to move. She is expected to remain so for another fortnight. Sbe was aleo half suffocated in the swamp, being trodden into the deep mud. The rest of the party escaped by jumping into the swamp.—^Star.
