The Petone murder
Wellington, Sunday. — The police are following up fresh deveiopements respecting the Petoue murder, and declare that the evidence of one of the chief witnesses was not in accordance with fact. Though still reticent the authorities say it is not at all unlikely that a capital offence will be preferred again, a second person at the Supreme Court sessions.
