The Club offered Prizes for the Best Five Acres of Swedes. First Prize, £o ss ; Second, £3 3s ; Third, £1 Is. Conditions :— The Prize-winners to give the Club treatment of land previous to sowing, and Manure and Drill used in sowing the O(op. TheJWaikato Times of 18ch June, 1895, gives the result of this Competition as follows :--" Winner of the Five-acre Root Competition, Mr R. Reynolds, Patetere." MR. G. J. NEAL, Cambridge, Waikato, writes as under date 17th July, 1895 :— " Your manures sold by me during the past twelve months have again given general satisfaction, easy todmll and good jiesults. Quite a goodly number of Prize-winuers at the late Waikato Farmers' Club Root Show are as good a testimony as you could wish, Mr. Richard Reynolds on his Patetere Estate winning the First Prize for Best Five Acres of Swedes, having used your Special Turnip Manure and Imperial and Marshall Swedes mixed." Mr. R REYNOLDS, Cambridge, writes as under date 23rd July, 1895 :— " The Five-acre Lot of Swedes that I was successful in gaining the Prize with was grown with your Special Turnip Manure, at the rate of H cwt to the acre, aad $lb Imperial and Marshall Seed, half and half."
