Sudden death. Auckland, Saturday. — Last eveningAlexander Nodder, firewood dealer, Newton, was found dead in a loft about six o'clock. One of his daughters went out to the yard where he was feeding his horse and Called him in to tea. Some time later as Nodder did not come in the daughter went out again and called him but got no answer. Miss Nodder noticing his hat at the foot of the steps leading up to the loft went to the loft and discovered him lying dead near a barrel to which he had gone for some horse feed. Drs Hooper and Sharman were called in but when they arrived .life was exfcinofc. . . ■ Sudden death. Auckland, Monday,— Last evening about 8.30 while walking up Wakefield Street John Grubb, Assistant Inspeotor of the Post Office Depart* ment, Wellington, took suddenly ill and expired almost immediatly. M* Grubb, who came down &om Rotorua on Friday last, had been staying there for two or 3 weeks for the benefit of his health, having been ordered there byhis Wellington medical attendant for change. The deceased gentleman was a widower. In all probability an inquest will be held to-day unless a medical certificate is forthcoming from the medical authorities at Rotorua* The general impression is that he died of heart disease. It is probably an undescribed species of the genus Tetrodon, and belongs to a family of fishes popularly known as Globe fishes. This evidence will be taken charge of by Inspector Pender who has also gone to Christchurch and who will proceed to England probably at end of the month. Inspector Pender will also take with him the confession made by Evison of the English murder some years ago. The Inspectorwill go alone but it is expected that Scotland Yard will send an officer out to bring Evison home for trial and this officer will assist the Inspector in bringing out Harper.
