Premier of Canada dead.
London, December 1 2. — Thompson, Premier of Canada, died suddenly at Windsor Castle immediately after he had been sworn as a Privy Councillor.
London, December 13. — Thompson vras suddenly seized with illness while at luncheon at Windsor Castle ; brandy was administered and the stimulant caused him to revive but the improvement was only temporary for he soon afterwards fell back and expired suddenly.
The medical men certified that Thompson's death was tbo result of syncope and no inquest was necessary. .
The Queen was greatly grieved. Chinese duplicity.
London, December 12. — The Chinese Loan placed on the London market has been withdrawn, the agent finding that the Chinese officials had been guilty of duplicity in connection with the negotiations.
