OUR RACES.

[ByEablyßird.] There is every probability of the Tauranga races proving a big success this year owing to the fact that no races will be held either at Te Puke or Katikati, therefore nearly all sporting people from these place will be in ' attendance. I will now endeavour to pick the winners of the various events giving my reasons for so doing: — - ; : H^NTbicApHijiDtEsV For 5 this biity three horses have accepted, Lottie, Dandy and Deceiver, and if the last named gets over the sticks he will romp home an easy wiimeras he has plenty of foot. Dandy, I woujd place second as he has won a flat race dnd maiden hurdles. We have a good field here, and! fromwhat lean glean Tarawera should be about good enough as he is reported a good jumper and fast' on the flat. Carbine should be placed second 1 think, with Rifleman and Musket near at hand. We know all three can jump, while Rifleman won the double at the Maori meeting. ; Maedek Pxi&xs. I give first plaoe to Minnie as she is in the pink of condition and has! won several races against good horses. Tiger or Ahuriri will also have a show, whichever Mr Moody decides to send. Tiger I think it will be, for he is a well know stayer, though rather fat just now. The Saint is fleet of foot, but outclassed, and probably will be saved lor another event., . Settlebs .. Elate. , Bi£ horses are entered, and all are known to be pretty good. It is a hand matter to say which will win here, and I think if Taihoa is saved she can do it, though the Saint may be on the same lay. Catch'em and, Sattelite will also show up well. .. • Ladies Pubse. Minnie and .Taihoa are the best entered, but not knowing what is being done with them in the proceeding events, it is difficult to say if they will goi However I will leave it with them.-
