The Sheep Louse.
■ The sheep louse is also known as the red sheep louse., head is of a red color, and the body of a pale yellow, marked with dark bands. It is generally found on the sides of the neck and on the inner parts of the thighs and the arms. It causes much irritation, and the sheep manifest much uneasiness. Sheep that have been dipped regularly each year are free from lice as well as ticks. Persian inßect powder is sure death to all Insect life with which it comes in contact.. . It is cheap; and would be a good remedy for the lice. The insect powder can be Tised^to, &qV| tb.^^ipe iij ,<heck till the sheep|'can be clipped after "shearing. A lotion composed of the following' will kill lice: Lardy 1 pound; flowers of suV phur, 2 ounces, and breosote, 20 drops. This is not the insect that produces the scab, but it will cause the sheep to pull their wool, and they will not thrive. — Exchange. .
