A SHEARING RECORD.
Shearing on the Clifton station commenced a fortnight ago, and has continued everyday since, there having been no broken time, The shearing is being done by the machines, and a l visitor to the shed on Wednesday last informs us that they are found to work with the utmost satisfaction, and extra heavy tallies are being made. On that day the V ringer 'of the shed — Mr Eobert Houliston—shore 202 heavy full-woolled sheep, The next two men scored 198 each, the whole making a heavy average tally. Mr Telford expressed himself as highly satisfied with the work done, both as to quality and quantity, regarding the machines as a long improvement over the old style of hand shears.— Clutna Leader.
