At Rangiriri boats are used t*> go from the township to the railway station. The early passenger train from Wakato yesterday, just north of Taupiri passed safely over a slip in the embankment wbich just con* mencad to give way, but fortunately held up to carry the train orer. A goods train following was stuck up aod the passenger train from Auck. land had to remain at Huntly till 3.30, arriving at Hamilton at 5 p.m. Coom, Eesident Engineer, happened, to be on the train and superintended, the repairs to the break. 1 . ' V" Heavy damage haa been done to. roads and drains all over the district. Creeks are flooded and bridges are. reported damaged. It is feared tl^at another heavy fall of rain will do arreat damage.
