TO THE EDITOR.
Sifi. — As ah ex-member of the Mutual, I ! must obtrud a on your space by placing on ] record my strong condemnatioa of the discourtesy (1 use the word advisedly) shewn tj the Lecturer by those to whom Sartor Beaarttuf is a sealed book, for his remarks on clothes, aptly apply to these persons. This oonduot I so freely reprobate was only equaled by the Scotchmen themselves, who by their reticence on Hogg, evidently wish to spare their own baoon as regards criticism, or wat 4it an ignorance of their own literature, or their national characteristic of oaution on a, theme that even stirred the stolid John Bull Mr excuse for taking up your space must be that Brummagen jewellery takes a great deal ( f Monkey soap to brighten it, — I am, etc. ■ ' < Wm.
