Eleven killed, 25 woiiuded. Few Yoek, July 6.— lighting Las taken place between the strikers and the police at Pittsburgh Eleven persons were killed and twenty-fiye wounded. Oil is being poured on the river and fired to prevent reinforcements of police being sent by water. Terrible doings by strikers at I Broken Hill. Sidney; July 7.— The mine owners have requested the New South Wales Government to despatch the military to Broken Hill. B usiness at Broken Hill is stagnant, the storekeepers refusing to sell except for cash. Further outrages in the direction of destroying goods intended for the mines is reported. Yesterday supplies for private residents and the manager of the Proprietary mine were cut off. The Owners Association will not attempt to work the mines with other labour. Fifty constables have been' despatched to the Broken Hill Central mine. . It has been decided to insist on freedom of contract in engaging in future, and it is believed other mines will follow the exanple.
