TE KOOTI SCARE. TROOPS SENT FROM AUCKLAND TO CAPTURE HIM.

Auckland, yesterday. The Chelmsford left yesterday afternoon for Opotiki, chartered by Government to convey an armed force to assist in the capture of Te Kooti. The troops consisted of the permanent force stationed at Fort Cautley, the Waitemata and Auckland navals and a detachment of police. A large number of people mustered at the wharf, and gave three cheers as the steamer departed, and not a few of the naval volunteers were accompanied i to the drill shed where, they muttered by mothers and sweethearts, who dropped a few natural tears, and found relief in sobs as their darlings marched off to fight TeKqpti. ■--1 » ■ m-^fr— ii .m.i
