Garrotting in Sydney.
SxDirEr, Feb. 16.— Numerous cases of garrotting have occur red tfacentiy. There is almost an epidemic ; but a conviction is hardly ijbtamaWe -owingto the perjury of witnesses. To-day the judge made an example of two men who were convicted, by sentencing them to a year's penal servitude, and also ordered the arrest of five wifcnesses for perjury.
