Joseph Boulter, licensee of the Shamrock Hotel, died thii morning from paralysis. ARSON. The inquiry into the big fire in Eden Terrace in August last resulted in the rerdict " that the fira was a malicious burning by some person unknown." GIRL MISSING. On Saturday week a girl 13 years old, named Jane Smith, left her home in Titirangi for Avondale in order to procure some provisions for her father. She has neither been wen or heard of since. THE DEWSON CASE. The jury whidh enquired into the death of Arthur t)ewson found C| that deceased met his death by a blow, bu by whom given there was not sufficient evidence to show.". They also exonerate the police from auy blame in the matter. MAN-SLAUGHTER, Sam Clegg, charged with manslaughter, was remanded till Friday. ELECTRIC LIGHT FOR AUCKLAND. J. U. Firth, who is negotiating to light the City by electricity, proposes for a trial at Christmas to place lights in Queen Street, and at the corners of Customs, Fort, Shortland, Wyudham, Victoria, Wellesley, and Grey Streets. He will run the lights fre9 for one week, and charge nothing for putting in the plant. SCARLET FEVER. Scarlet fever haa prevailed. There were nineteen cases in November and two more to-day. WESLEYAN CONFERENCE. The Wesley an Conference made a grant of £40 to the Bay of Islands, and .£4O to Tauranga, besides a parsonage grant of £2J to Tauranga if certain obligations are accepted, and a special grant of £23 3b to the same district. THE WOOL SALES. The first wool sales of the season were hold yesterday under the old conditions, the auctioneers having waived the proposed delivery charges. Prices ranged from 7| to 6d a lb for longwool, greasy. At Buckland's wool sale on Wednesday prices wera not equal to those last year. Longwools brought from 6£d to 7dj merino 7d to 8d ; halfbred merinos and longwools from 7d to 7£d ; cross-bred from 5d to 6£d ; belly pieces and locks from 4d to s|d per lb. At Hunter and Nolan's sale competition was good, longwools heavy 6d to 6fd; cross-breds 7d to 7£d : merino and half-bred 8d to 8&d per lb.
