CHEMICAL MANURE CO.

A meeting of the directors of the Chemical Manu/e Co. took place yesterday. The delegates reported the result of their mission to Auckland. The draft circular for raising further capital by issue of fresh shares was ordered to be printed. Arrangements with Mr W. M'Candlish C.E., were approved of for the survey of tho sulphur beds at "White Island. Another cargo of sulphur was ordered for the Company's works, and arrangmerits were completed for payment of the same. The reply from the Government to the letter of application from the Company in reference to the objections to payment of the annual license fees claimed by Government, was read \ the Government now abandon their claim. The Company has now requested the refund of previous claims paid by them to Government.
