Friday. A sadi accident happened yesterday tit TaiwaM East. W. Taylor, son of AY. James Taylor, Tamaki, and Mr* Kissliug, son of Mi* Kissling, of Parnell, went out sporting and the giia went off aceidently, killing young Kissling. It is feared that one of the officers of the Austrian man-of-war, Saida, has met his death at Motatapu. They went there on Thursday under the aus--1 pices of Herr Schmidt shooting, and one did not turn up at the clone of the day. A search party of 30 men and!' 20 officers has gone from the vessel. The missing officer is supposed to have lost his way and fallen over the cliff. Opening soiriee in connection with the Baptist Tabernacle took place last night and was a great success.. i The building fund, shewing theCmtreh cost £14,000 and free of debt. Great preparations are being made for St. Mary's Oriental Fair, to be held on the 23rd instant, in aid of the new Church, ParnelL The new "Wesleyau Church Bazaar, Devonport, was opened successfully yesterday by His 'Worship the Mayor of Auckland. Attempts to float the Macgregor have failed, hopes of success are still entertained. Fresh efforts are being made.
