This is a striking example of the march of political revolutionism : — The journal Le Moniteur states that the Fenians at present in Paris drew up the following manifesto, which, it adds, has been sent by post to Mr. Gladstone, the other members of the Cabinet, and Lord Lyons, Jthe British Ambassador : — " Notice. — Office of the Oynamite -'ection of the Members of the British Calr'net. — We, representatives of the Extreme Section of the Revolutionary Party, assembled in council, hereby give notice that, should the British Parliament iv the course of the present Session vote the renewal of the Crimes Act, a measure which we regard as unjustifiable, we are firmly ! resolved to assert the lex lalionis by availing ourselves of tho 'resources of civilization." ' The Mahdi has in his service a German who accompanied Hicks Pasha, and who went over to the enemy. He has also in his train a French journalist, M. Oliver Pain, who had adopted Mahomedanism, and haa become the chief friend of the Mahdi. He plays a leading part, and it is under his orders that formidable entrenchments have been erected at the Mahdi's camp in Omdur« man, four miles from Khartoum,
