Phillips Thomas Wrigley ROTORUA REDING. William Kelly Returned unopposed. KATIKATI RIDING. Cecil G-ledstanes John Killen D. Macmillan The poll will be taken on Wednesday, 22nd November.
I Mr D. Morris, in a recently published official report on St. Helena, gives a dismal account of the financial and commercial affairs of this historically famous island. The revenue, we are told, is becoming less and less every year ; public buildings, roads, and public works generally are suffering from want of funds ; the establishment, reduced to its lowest standard, is small, illpaid, and sharing the general depression ; education, religion, local institutions, and in fact, all moral, social, and commercial machinery of a community are suffering from want of means, and are yearly less and less able to meet the demands made upon them.
