. , SYDNEY, June 4. > In consequence of the warnings received by the authorities regarding the projected attempts to destroy public' buildings in this city, Sydney will be strictly searched for explosives on the arrival of the mail steamer from Auckland. Owing to a warning from the Home authorities, precautionary measures are now being" taken for the protection of the local public buildings. The football match between the New Zealand team and 17 of the Combined Suburbs resulted in another victory for the visitors by 23 points to 5. During the first part of the game the the Combined Team played well, and at half time the scores stood as fol- ■ lows : — New Zealand six points, Suburbs five. During the latter part of the time the local men collapsed, and the visitors literally walked over opponents. Warbrick secured a BWEn-illiant goal by a splendid long- drop kick. Ryan and Braddon also did some fine drop kicking, and Warbrick particularly . distinguished himself throughout the afternoon. Allan Kobertson and Taiaroa were also in excellent form, and made some ; splendid runs. The New Zealanders left for Newcastle last night, and tomorrow play there, against 15 of the Northern Districts. In the three matches which so far have been played the visitors have scored 67 points, against 5 to their opponents.
