Again and again was the charge renewed ; each time, however, with like effect. The "County" appeared to be conscious of the truth and stability of his sideofthe argument, and the " Board" like Roderick Dhu felt that— v As firm rock or castle roof, Against the wintry shower is proof, His foe invulnerable still foiled His wild rage with steady skill."
