TAURANGA CRICKET CLUB.
The annual meeting of the Tauranga Cricket Club was held at the Commercial Hotel, on Thursday evening. Amongst those present were Messrs Gair, Buddie, Louch, Hoyte, Ellis, Taylor, McKinney, Neighbour, Parkes, Anderson, McKellair, and Hon. Randolph Rowley. Mr Hoyte having been voted to the chair, the minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. The report and balance-sheet wero read and adopted, both being considered highly satisfactory. The balance-sheet showed a balance in hand of £6 2s 9d. The first business before the meeting was . the election of new members, and it was proposed by Mr Hoyte, seconded by Mr Mo-
Kinney, and carried, that the Hon. R. Bowley, and Messrs Gair, Louch, Parkes, Farrar, Peters, Anderson and Matthews be members of the Club. It was also proposed by Mr Buddie, seconded by Mr Gail', and cax*ried, that Captain Turner be a member of the club. NEW OFFICERS. Mr Gair said that as their late President, Major Scannell, had left .the district it would be necessary to appoint another gentleman to that office. On the motion of Mr Neighbour, seconded by Mr McKellar, Mr Buddie was unanimously elected President of the Club. Mr Taylor was appointed Secretary, and Mr Gair was proposed as Treasurer, but declined, saying they should elect someone who would be able to devote more time to the interests of the Club than he had at his disposal, and eventually Mr McKinney was appointed Treasurer, and the following gentlemen a committee : Messrs Neighbour, ] Goldsmith, Hoyte, Griffiths, and Ellis. FENCING. A letter wns read from Captain Tunks, Chairman of the Domain Ground, re fencing tho ground, and after considerable disI cussion, it was resolved that Messrs McKellar, Turner, and Griffiths be appointed a subcommittee to see to the laying out and the fencing of the now ground, with full power to act. PBESENTATIOW. Mr Gair presented the Club with two bats, saying he was not muoh of a cricketer, but he had the interests of the Club at heart. Mr McKinney presented the Club with a new ball. . After a vote of thanks to these gentlemen had been passed, Mr McKellar proposed a vote of thanks to the Dramatic Society for a proposed performance to be given by them, in aid of the Club. This was seconded by Mr Gair, and carried unanimously. It was resolved that the practice days be Tuesdays at 4 o'clock, and Saturdays at 1.30, and that the opening day be Saturday, the 19th instant. A vote of thanks to the Chairman brought the meeting to a close.
