CAPTAIN MORRIS AND THE OFFICIAL DECLARATION OF THE POLL; .
TO THE EDITOB; . Sib, — It was with surprise that r found oh > going up to the declaration' of the poll that' Captain Morris was absent — unquestionably purposely absent, though iathe neighbourhoods of, and I did hear, actually.' in the town. Now, sir, either Captain Morris wished to insult the electors, or ■ else ■ he 'was afraid of trusting himself to address them for fear of giving in public further signs of that temper - which he has, I hear, unmistakeably evinced 1 to one or two men who he heard had opposed-^ him in his election. Sir, in either ease ho has - no excuse ; he has shown by his absence ■- to-day to any disinterested and educated man^ his shallowness and inaptitude for a public career; — I enclose my name, and am, sir, &c., , A NON-EiECIOB. -
