Passengers—Mrs Maunsell, Miss Oman, Captain Morris, MP O, Mr Wood, Mr Fenton. 30—Miranda, cutter, Stevens, for Tuiroa, with sundries By telegram we learn that the s 8 Southern Cross arrived at Auckland at midnight on Wednesday, and the Murray at 7-30 a m the following morning. The Cross is due here again this afternoon, and the Murray on Tuesday next. Captain Sellars’ now boat, built at Mercury Bay expressly to his order, and intended for this trade, will shortly bo ready for sea. The many friends of Captain Sellars will “join issue” with us in wishing him good luck in his new venture. The cutter Coralie cleared outwards for Tairoa in ballast yesterday. NEW STEAMER FOB THE TAURANQA TRADE. Wo learn upon good authority that the as Murray will very shortly be taken off this trade, and that the owners intend to replace her by a new paddle-bout about the same size as the Murray, but in every other way supciior. The now steamer will bo able to do nine knots an hour easily, thus making the average trip to or from Auckland in fourteen or fifteen hours. She will, we understand, have excellent accommodation for passengers. We shall be in possession of further particulars at an early date.
