The laws still hold good, but they are controlled by the trader, and not by the consumer." During the restricted train service Mr Blakeley, dentist, will visit Milton on Tuesday, as usual, but his hours are curtailed from 10 a.m. to 8,80 p.m. A progressive euchre tournament, ar« ranged by the Tokoiti Social Olub, takes place on Wednesday evening ; prizes will be awaded the winners. Dance to follow. The usual (fortnightly dance will be held [in tit. Joseph's Schoolroom next Friday evening. The tendor of Mr Alex. Oampbell has again been aecapted for the grazing rights of the Toko Farmers' Olub pad* dock for ensuing twelve months, at tho .usual figure (£l2 ss). Leaving Dunedin at 10.10 a.m., it reached Milton at 12.80, the trip through the Chain Hills tunnel occupying 90 seconds. At Tokomairiro the Mayor (Mr W. J. Dyer) presented an address, wheoh was replied to by the Deputy Superintendent (Mr George Turnbull), the district engineer (Mr Blair}, and the representative of Brogdens (Mr Deeß), The temporary station on the easatern bank of the CJlutha was reached at 1.20 p.m., and the exoar« siohiets were takes over to the tbwnship by Mr G.
