BURNSIDE STOCK SALES.

Ainticipatiouw o±" small yardings were fulfilled ill connection with sheep, prices of which for prime quality were very high, a goodly number 'being.sold at equal to Od per 11) in the wool. Fat cattle, 'Oll the.Ot'hor 'hand, were in fair supply, without much change' in values, as compared with last- week's rates. Pig's were particularly dear, prime porkers realising up to llicl per lb. Sheep:—-A.' small yarding, numbering 1200 head. The quality of the yarding was 1 of medium description. Owing 'to the .small number forward competition was keen, especially l'or prime quality sheep. Inferior s'heep advanced Is 6d>, ni'edium from 2s Gel to .'3s, ancl extra prime quality sheep up to '7s- (sdi per head; above, last- week's 1 rates. Extra prime heavy-weight wether's made from 60s up to 72s (3d; prime from 55s to 635; medium from 49s 1 to 545, A very poor class of ewes was 1 offered, nothing prime being forward. Prices realised for what- were sold ranged from 30s up to 40s per head.

Hoggets. —About 40 were offered for sale. These Are re disposed of at'prices ranging fi'om 24s Gd to 2Ss per head. Fat Cattle. —'A medium yarding, a total of J£so* head being penned. The yarding was' of fair quality. Competition was keen, and the prices' realised' were well up to late rates. Prime bullocks made from £2l! up to £2B 12s Gd; medium 1 from £lB 10s to £22. Prime heifers made from £ls up to £l7 10s; medium from £1;'! to £l4 10s.

Store Cuttle. —There is i practically nothing to report in this department. Pigs.—A small yarding-, there being not sunicient for requirements. In consequence of this the price per lb was 1 very high.

ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. CimiSTCHU-RCIT, August 20. At the Addington market the yardiugs of stock were not very large in any department, except- in fat sheep and store cattle, the latter showing' a considonible increase over sale's for some weeks past. Fat sheep were, of course, not up to the rates of the double market a fortnight ago, but sold at an advance. on prices ruling - on July .'lO. The quality of the yarding! was, ho'wevor, very moderate ou the whole, a considerable proportion l being unfinished. There was a further advance in the price of fat cattle, the proportion of really prime 'being small. Theje was only a limited domainl for store cattle, and few sales were made at auction, but some business was done privately in the better classes. Good dairy cows sold well, and there was keen demand for the few vca ; lers penned. Pigs of all classes sold weir.

Store 'Sheep.—Two-tooth owes, oOs 1 2d to 38s; four to six-tooth ewes, to 36s (id: four, six, and eight-tooth ewe's, 23s lOd to 31s 7d; four and six-tpotli wethers, 32s Sd to 34s lOd; six and eighttooth wethers, 38s 3d to 34s Gd; ewe hog-gets,-32s Gd.

Fat Sheep.—Primei wethers, 50s to 60s; medium wethers, 3Ss to 49s Gd; unfinished! wethers, 31s 3d to 37s Gd; extra prime ewes, 535; prime ewes, 38s to 435; medium ewes, 30s to 37s Gd. Fat Cattle—Extra prime steers, to £32 15s; prime steers, £22 to £27 2s Gd; ordinary steers, £lO 15s to £2l 10s; prime heifers, £l4' to £.16 7s Gd; extra prime cows, £1.5 to £lB 15s; ordinary cows, £8 10s> to £l4 10s.
