Wounded. Private John iGeorge Heads, Lovells Flat, is reported as having been wounded on April 12th, and admitted to hospital; Mrs Keogh, Queen street, Milton, has received advice that her eldest son, Corporal John Lawrence Keogh (D.C.M.) was wounded on April 20fch, and has been admitted to hospital, The nature of the wounds is not stated* Corporal Keogh, who joined the Rifle Brigade, received his D.C.M. for conspicuous bravery during the Somme campaign in September, 1916, Mrs Keogh'a young'* est eon, Private James Keogh, is atpre* sent in England, having had a leg amputated, in addition to receiving severe facial injuries. Private Russell Chalmers, Milton, is reported as having received severe gunshot wounds in his left side, and had been admitted to hospital in England on the 18th ult. Private Chalmers enlisted in the 32nd Reinforcements immediately upon arriving at military age, but was subsequently transferred to the 31st, with which he left New Zealand. Word has been received that Captain A. Alexander,' son of Mr Alexander, Clarendon, has been wounded in the left eye and arm. This is the third time he has been wounded.
