Tokoiti Social Club.
The popularity of Tokoiti Social Club's t'ornightly progressive euchre tournaments was again proved last Wednesday evening, when 1-1 tubles were occupied by those interested in securing "lone hands," The prizes were provided by the Club, and the ladies' trophy (silver was won by Miss Mills, and the men's prize (tobacco pouch) by Mr R Glenn, after a deciding game with Mr.R Lockhart. The lloor space for the succeeding dancing was uncou fortably crowded, over SO couphs participating. Music was snpplied by Messrs Wells Richardson (uiano), assisted at intervals by Mr J Walsh and Miss I Marti u. AlrT (Jasseily proved, as usual, u capable and obliging Master of Ceremonies. . Last Wednesday evening concluded the series of play oxtendmg •ner three nights for the ladies' ipecial prize, and lias resulted in a tie botween two ladies. The final will be played next tournament night, Wednesday, August sth.
Acceding to a generally expressed desire by their patrons,'the committee have decided to hold a dance on Wednesday evening, ii'Jth inst.
