Many and diverse opinions are being offered regarding the Education Bill, many of the adverse criticisms being from districts which will lose their education boards owing to the reduction in number. The Dunedin Headmasters' Association, however, is very favourable to the Bill, and at a meeting on Tuesday the following resolution, to be forwarded to the Minister of Education, was unanimously passed: "That this association congratulates the Minister of Education on the liberal staffing and generous provision in the matter of salaries provided for in the Education. Bill, especially in the provision that, subject to transfer, no teacher shall suffer reduction in salary owing to a falling attendance." The association recommended that as early as possible a Dominion scheme for the promotion of teachers should be brought into operation,
