Hockey Notes.

The Ladies' Hockey Club held a most successful opening day ou Saturday, when twenty players, including a number of new meniDers turned, out lor a game, bides were picked by the captain and deputy-captain, the game lesulting m a win I'or the latter b> four goals to ii. Some of the nesv members showed to be the makings of good players, and with a number ol new players yet to roll up, the writer considers Milton will again be able to put a good team in ,tue held. ' The cluu!s patron, Mrs Jas. Gray, still takes a great interest in the olub,which she showed in practical way on Saturday by providing afternoon tea for the players ana visitors. At the conclusion of the game the captain, in a neat speech, thankeu xvirs bray for her kindness. The latter, in replying, impressed upon tne new members the necessity ol turning out to every practice.
