OBITUARY.
MKS THOb. FaHEY, Aukd T6. The hand of Death has taken from our midsi another old resident oi lokomai* riro district, in the person of Mrs Thos. Fahey, whose death occurred at the re* sidenee of her son-in-law (Mr A. Kelly) on Saturday evening. The deceased lady had been ailing for some considerable time, and her demise was not unexpected, bhe was born at Annadowu, County of Galway, Ireland, in 18U8, and accompanied her husband to New Zealand in the ship Melbourne, commanded by Captain ltobinaon, arriving at Port Chalmers on St. Patrick's Day, 1861. A daughter (the late Mrs D. Hassett) was born on the voyage out. They came on to Tokomairiro at once, where Mr Fahey followed laboriog occupations, and also j took part in the Gabriel's Gully rush, not meeting with much success, 'lhey afterwards sootied aO Fairfax, where Mr Fahey leased one of the Borough Council's reserves ; ho predeceased hia wife by 'AQ years. A few years ago Mrs Fahey came to reside m Milton. The deceased lady was a sister of Mr John Boyle, of Moneymore, who died recently. Of a family of six sous and Bix daughters there are nine left to mourn the loss of a devoted mother—John (detective stationed at Timaru), Thomas (Invercargill), Patrick (Hiveiton), William (in the North Island), Edwaru (Brooklands, Milton), Mrs Irons (Centre Bush, lnvercar gill), Mrs M'Murtrie (Gore), Mrs Win, Ivirby (Milton), and Mrs A. Kelly (Milton). There are also 40 graudchildren surviving.

Just as we were going to press, news was received by us of the death of Mrs John Kreft, which occurred at her residence this morning..
