The Chairman reported on behalf of I tlie committee who had visited the slock agents to discuss matters in j coiiicetioii with the yard sales 1 . They had got no satisfaction from the agents, who were willing' to start an hour earlier, but would not sell sheep and pin's together. In connection with more pens for fat sheep, the Borough Council had not yet decided on a tender, as those in so far were j too high, j I .Mr Johnston said the agents did; not wish to have two auctioneers near j each oilier calling out bids at the time. lie thought tiny- could ; j sell the dairy cows and slice)) at the 1 same time, and then uo on to the ! j I >'.<_i's. If the agents wouldn't agree; ito that, then things would have to ; remain as they were. So far' he had seen no signs of their starting the work, hut lie hoped they would go ' on with it soon. -Mr k. Moffat also thought the pigs could be sold later on in the pale. This had not, so far, been mentioned to the agents. Mr Ayson suggested that the committee should meet the agents again, and propose this latter course to them. j Mr Ceo. Moffat moved in this direc- ' lion—viz., to sell the sheep and dairy ] cows together and then the fat cattle ' and pi l:'s : the sales starting at 11.13 a.m.—Mr Gordon seconded, and the motion was carried. '. It was decided that the chairman wait on Mr Thos. McDonald, secretary '■ of the Stock Agents' Association, and ■ discuss the matter. . Binder Twine deductions. ' '.l'lie Chairman mentioned that last ye a r financial members had got binder ' twine and corn, sacks at a reduction from an agent. They got twine at 1/3 a bale less, and corn sacks at 7/1 a bale less. He wanted to know if they were going to get quotations this year. Those present were unanimous that the /Branch should do so, and, on the motion of ]\lr Johnston, it was de- . eided that the secretary write to the i agents asking quotations. j Financial Statement.
