CANTERBURY FARM LABOURERS.
CONCILIATION BOARD'S RECOMMENDATIONS. The recommendations of the Board of Conciliation in the farm laborers' dispute at Christchurch, have been made publio. The recommendations are as follow Hours of Work. 'Ploughmen, 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., not more than eight hours, except at harvest time, when 10 hours may be worked, half an hour to be allowed for breakfast, and an hour for dinner. General farm hands' hours not to exceed eight per day, exclusive of one hour for dinner; hours for harvest work not to exceed 10 per day, exclusive of two hours for meals. Wages. Ploughmen, 24/, an additional 2/ for each horse over four, sm&rt ploughing with six horses 30/ per week, wages to be in addition to board and lodging. General, farm hands, 24/) plus board, .Day laborers, G/6 per day. • ; Casual laborers, 1/- per hour. Men" employed at draining, 1/- per hour* gum-boota to-be-s^^^^^^
22/6; 21 years, ' 24/-; all including* board* Overtime, Overtime is to be paid at the rate of time and a quarter, and at the rate of time and a-half on Sundays, except for necessary time attending tto horses and cattle. Provision is also made'for holidays and the quality of tfie food supplied.
