Late Commercial.
Messrs Donald Reid , and Co. report prices as under : — Oats. — During the past week a fair business has been done in B grade quality at late quotations. There is also some inquiry for A grade, but few of this class are offering. Inferior and discolored lines meet with slow sale. We quote : Prime milling is 4>^d to is sgd, good to best feed is 3d to is 4d, inferior xod to is 2cl per bushel (sacks extra). Wheat. —In milling quality there is little business passing" The unsettled state of the flour market has made millers chary of operating freely, and meantime sales are confined to a few lines of prime quality. Medium sorts have little attention, but for fowl wheat there is fair demand at late values. We quote : Prime milling 2s o,d to 3s, medium to good 2s 4d to 2s Bd, whole fowl wheat 2s 2d to 2s 3}4d, broken and damaged is lod to 2s id per bushel (sacks extra). Potatoes. — Supplies have not been heavy during the pas; week, but prices show r> >.improvement. We quote : Prime Derwen\ g7 s 6d to 40s, other sorts 30s to 35s per tonpags in). Chiff. — Medium and inferior lines continue to arrive to a market already glutted with these kinds, and sales arc almost impossible, even at a reduction on late values. Prime oaten sheaf is scarce, and commands ready sale. We quote: Prime quality £2 10s to &2 15s, medium to good £2 to £2 7s 6d, light and discolored £ I 10s to £1 17s 6d per ton (bags extra). Hay. — The market is still glutted, and anything but choice quality can only be quitted et low values. We quote : Best clover and ryegrass £2 10s to £2 15s, medium to good £l 17s 6d to £2 7s 611 (pressed). ■<<■< Straw. — We quote: Best straw (pressed) 25 s to 27s 6d per ton. 1 1
