Wednesday, June 8. Fat Cattle.— The market was well supplied with 190 head, and of this number fully half were good to extra prime cows and heifers. The remainder were bullocks, mostly of good quality, though only> one or two pens were over average weight. The supply of cow and heifer beef was in excess of trade requirement , and prices, compared with those ruling at last week's aales, were 10a to 15s a he.d down. Prime bullocks met a fairly good 3ale at about last week's rates. Best bullocks £10 to £10 10s, medium £8 to £9 10*, light £6 5s to 11 15a, best cows and heifers £7 to £8, medium 15 5s to £6 10s> light £4 to £4 15s. Fac Sheep, — 1821 penned, all crossbreds, the greater proportion being good to prime wethe s. The demand for good sheep, both wethers and ewes, was better than last week, and prices for wethers especially showed an advance of fully Is per head. Chaff. -Prime bright oaten sheaf has fair inquiry,,.. but medium and inferior quality, with which the market is still over-supp'ied, ia difficult to quit at any price.
