CEMENT FOR JOINING WOOD.

An excellent cement for uniting articles of wood with metals, glass, stone, etc., may be obtained by dissolving glue in boiling water and making it of the same consistency as that of cabinet makers' glue. Add while stirring a sufficient quantity of wood ashes to produoe a varnish-like mixture. The surfaoes to be united mußt be covered or coated with the glue compound while hot, and pressed together. When cold the surfaces will be found firmly united, and much force will be needed to separate them again.
