DUNEDIN HORSE SALEYARDS.

Weekly Report. Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Co. report as follows : — For this 4 week's sale there was a moderate entry of horses, about 30 of all sorts being i booked. The number included two or three j good draught geldings, eight or 10 useful ! draught, mostly aged, and 15 or 16 nonde. script light horses. There waa not a really j good saddle or light harness horse in tbe j yard. Brown gelding, good shafter, at | £48 10a ; bay gelding at £46 j bay geldiogs at £36 ; and several others of less merit at from £27 to £33, As already noted, owing to their inferiority practically no busines | was done io light horses. The demand for

good draughts aad for serviceable harness horsea continues without abatement, and we oan Btrongly reccomend consignments of good sorts. Strong van horses are badly wanted. Privately during the week we have sold a very nice pair of waggonette geldings, five years old, by Blue JPeter, at a high figure, also a very good five-year-old buggy horse by Trump Card at £25. We quote as follows : Superior yoang draught geldings, £45 to £50eaoh ; extra, good, prime horses, £55 to £60 eaoh ; medium draught mares and geldings £30 to £42 eacb ; aged do, £20 to £25 each ; weil. matched carriage pairs, £50 to £60 the pair ; strong spring-van horses, £25 to £30 each - milk-oart and butcher's order-cart horses, £16 so £24 each j tram horses, £10 to £15 each ; light hacks, £6 to £15 each extra good do, £18 to £25 each ; weedy and aged hacks and harness horses, £2 to £5.
