Messrs Moritzson aod Hopkin, Danedin, roport as follows for week ending Augdst 3 : — We would ask farmers when sending Barapleß always to pul. a prico on them, 1 a buyers will not make offers. Wheat— There is no busineaß passing locally, millers being content to reduce their slock in the meantime. We quote : For best velvet, 4, 6d to 4e Sd ; best Tuscan, 4' 8 J to 4s 6d ; red ohaff, 4a 6d ; fowls' 3j to 3s 61. Seed Wheat— We have some very fine samples of Tuscan, Velvet, Velv t Ear, and Red Straw Wheat, and shall be pleased to forward samples on application. Oitß. — The market is hardly bo brisk, though prices are without alteration. We u-.te : Best feed, 2i 2d to 2s 3d ; Sutberlands, 2s 6d. Barloy. — Feed sorts aro quoted at '2s 3d to 2s 6d ; mi'liog, 3d 3i to 4s ; malting, in strong demand, 4s di to 53 2d. Ryecorn. -3* Gd. Flour : We quote £12. Oatmeal in 25'e, £13 10i. Pearl barley, £21. Bran £3. Pollard £4. Nelson hops are quoted at ls 3d. Chaff.— Supplies having been lighter this week prices are rather better. Prime, £3 12, 6i to £3 15* : medium, £3 to £3 10e. Ryegrass.— The demand ia good for smali shotty seed, and prioes are muoh firm ■ r. We have large orders to fill, aud can place any quantity. We quote : For farmers' dressed, 2o 6d to 3s 3d machined, 3a 3d to 4a. Cocksfoot, 3£d to 3| 1 for farmers' lots, and 4£d to s£d for machined. Linseed (wanted), £12 10s. Pressed Btraw, 255. Clover hay, £3 ss. Nitrate of Boda, £15. Basic slag, £5. Clovers, rape, &-.•. just landing. We can offer all oiaseea pure and fresh. Pot.itoea. — Tbe demand is keen and pricee are firm. We quote : Prime Derwonts, £7 5s £7 10s per ton. Hides.— l£d to 4J, according to weight and condition. Tallow.— Rough fat, 9a to lis ; rendered, 12s to 153. Horsehair, — ls to ls 3d. Rabbitskina. — The market here is very I firm, and all sorts moet with brisk competition. We sell by auotion every Monday. We quote : Suokevs and runners, 2d to 4^d » Summers 5s to 8i ; Autumns 9d to 12d ; Inoomings 13d to 141; Winters 14^d tj 19d per lb. Sheepskins. — We held our usual weekly ■,ale on Tuesday, when we offered a large ■ ■atalogue. Competition was brisk and prices ruled very firm. Dry crossbreds brought from 2, 6i to bs 9d ; inferior, ls 3d to 2a 4d ; dry pelts, 8d to ls 6d ; dry merinos, 2a 3d to Si; iufe.ior, Is to 2s; green crossbreds, 2. 3d to 3s 61 ; extra to 3a 9d ; green lambskins, 2s to 3b 3d eaoh. We undertake country clearing sales. FRUIT AND PRODUCE REPORT. Butter : Prime salt, nominally 9d ; medium, Sd. Butter cases, with parchments, 18a per dozen. Cheese : Good Akaroa, 4£i ; faotory, 4|d, Pigs. — For good quality, 4d. Beeswax (wanted), ls 9d for prime quality. Fruit. — We receive consignments of all kinda of fruit and garden produce, which we aell either by auotion or privately, as we think best in the interests of oonaignorp. Cooking apples, 2d ; pears, in good demand, 3d to 3^d per lb.
