Table Hill

(From Oob Own Correspond bnt ) Thursday. WEATIIER. The weather here during the last few days haa been a great improvement on what we had duriDg last week, Heavy rain and snow gave us a taste of winter weather, which did not prove enjoyable. MINING. There is nothing fresh to chronicle in this line. Work goes on steadily at the reef, and the material for the battery at Lawson's Claim is still being carted up. ENTERTAINMENT. A magic- lantern exhibition was given in the school on Wednesday night, by Mr J. M'Goun, who intends shortly to leave for India to take up missionary work in that country. Numerous views of India — both of piaces and of the people — were shows, and proved very interesting. A group comprising several of the accepted candidates for mission work, and Mr Reeves, the director of the Poonah Inland Mission, was am6ngst those shown. There was a large attendance and all agreed that the views were well worth seeing. EECOBD BEIGN. I hear it bas been suggested that a bonfire shonld be lighted here on the 22nd, as our share in the general illuminations. Up to present date, however, nothing definite has been arranged, so that whether the hills of Canada "will glow" c_ that night, remains to be seen. The school will probably be closed for the usual mid-winter holidays about June 22nd, when most schools will be closed.
