Sir W.V. Haroourt, in his Budget speech, B aid the revenue last year »"»*»J ed '° ■£94.684,000, leaving a Burplns of £/7b,000, which wonld be applied to the reduction of the na'ional debt. Tbe estimated revenue for next year was £95,662,000, and a surplus of £181.000 waa anticipated. The wine revenue showed a decrease of £66,000, and spirits a deorease of £63,000. Sir W. V. Haroourt resists the BUggeßted grants to agriculturists, and warned the House that the country would not long be able to afford the present increased expenditure. In conclusion, he said tbat this waß, perhaps, the last occasion he would be in a noßition to utter a warning to the House. A report is current in well-informed clroles that Lord Rosebery will resign forthwith, but the report has been denied.
