SMILES AND FROWNS.
When Minnie Bmiles, and smiles on me, The world may frown, I heed it not ; I only feel love's ecstasy, And all else is forgot. My pulses dance with quickened beat 'Neath her entrancing wiles ; And heaven and earth in rapture meet When Minnie emiles. When Minnie frowns — and frowns on me, The very heart within me dies ; No pleasure in the world I see ; My life ebbs out in sigha. Each cherished hope is put to rout, Despair my ruin crowns, And heaven itself seems blotted out When Midnie frowns. K. H.
