The ' New Zealand Methodist,' referring to the censure which Judge Williams, of Melbourne, passed on the Fisk Jubilee Singers, says : — " Speaking of New Zealand, which has been twice visited by this talented troupe of singers, we venture to say that no one need have been under the slightest misapprehension with regard to the object for which the concerts were given. Wherever they went, so far as our acquaintance with the matter gees, Mr Loudin was careful to explain 'that while the troupe as originally constituted had travelled through America and Eu-i rope to raise funds for the Eisk University at Nashville, the company of which he was manager was singing for their own personal benefit."
