The wench might bo ten or eleven, _S But Bunken and small of her yeara; What aid are a few coppers given In a caße such as hers ?—it appears That you and I, wife, are in heaven. But it isn't just quite the same place That it might be this wintry night If there were no such hunger-pinched face, Or a*;child in such sorrowful plight. In the midst of this civilized race. A.B.
