A f ter a very little trouble the horses were got off apparently fairly together, Suwarrow beiog the first that showed distinctly in frout, Riverton was well up on the inside, and Glenormiston was m"St prominpnt on the outside. As they came between the rails Suwarrow hid the lead, and Tom Kiik had taken second place. Riverton, Waxy, Democrat, and Wandering Jew were at the head of the second lot ; K.O B. and Richmond were together in the middle ; Le/ant and Terrific were together behind. Suwarrow led past the stand by two lengths in front ; Tom Kirk, Riverton, Monarqu?, Lord Ham', Glenormiston, X.C.8., Darriwell, and Le loup were following in that order at the head of a close body of horses. Secuodus was well in the rear; Levant was acting as whipper in. As they rounded the turn past the stand Suwarrov maintained ha lead, Riverton had taken second place, Tom Kirk wa3 next, Wellingtjn, Waxy, Mona ? que, Colima, Glenormiston, Darriwell, Wandering Jew, Democrat, K 0.8., Lord fcTarry Echmond, Le Lonp, and Follio were following in that order and close together ; Levant was still in the rear. Passing the railway bridge Suwarrow was still leading, Waxy had gone up level with Eiverton, Wellington was close handy, Colima, Tom Kirk, X.C.8., Democrat, and Le Loup were at the head of the second division. Suwarrow led rouud the far turn, and at the abbatoirs he was still in front. Riverton was running him close for the leid. Wellington had taken third place. Thf-u came about a dozen horses all in a cluster, Waxy showing iv fraut of them, with Democrat, Secundus, Sweetmeat, K C.8., aud Colima just behind him. Darriwell was goiug up on the outside, Secundus was showing iv the secoud division. A3 they approached the turn Riverton was beat en off, and Suwarrow led into the straight, Wellington, S weefcmeat, and C -lima being clos^; *p. ivith Darriwell on the oirslde aud going very strong. As tbf-y came up the straight Darrwell weut up to Suwarrow, and soon had him at the whip. Darriwell had the lead beftre reaching the distance, and was going well within himself. Sweetmeat came with a good rush, but waa dis ppoiuted in only getting pasb Suwarrow. Darriwell won with a little in hand by half a length. Sweetmeat beat Su warrow for 3ecoud pi ice by a neck. Columbus, who had come well at the finish, was next ; theu came Wellington, Colima, RivertoD, Mouaique, Secuudus, F<ilmoufcb, and Wandering Jew. Time, 3mio. 30^ec.
