DUNEDIN STOCK REPORr. Maclean Brothers report for the week ending 3rd September as follows : — Fat Cattle. — The number yarded to-day consisted of 170 head, a fair proportion of which were good to prime quality, the remainder being for the greater part liyVit- weight cattle in very ordinary condition. Of the latter about 40 head were turned out unsold, while good to prime descriptions, whick ware cleared, suffered .1 redaction of about 2s 6d per 1001 b. We quote inferior to medium from 22s 6d to 25a, barely ; prime, 27s Gd per 1001 b. We yarded 41 head, bnt sold only a few pens, on account ef Messrs Allan, Heenan, and Ay son, at from £8 4s to ill 7a Gd for bullocks, and from L 6 10i to L 9 15a fer cows. Fat Sheep. — There was again a large rapply of about 2153, of which two-thirds were really good cross-breds, and one-third merinos of very fair qnality. Competition was moderately brisk, and all were cleared at an advance on last week'd rates of about Is per head. Beat crossbreds brought from lit Gd to 13* ; medium do, 8j 9d to 10a — or equal to about 2Jd. per lb. htore Sheep. — We have inquiries for both cross-breds and merinos of good ages, but few or n me offering. Country tfales. — We would direct attention to our sale of Mr Beck's farm on Saturday first at our rooms, and to Mr Maofarlaae's clearing sale of first-class draught horses, dairy cows, &c, at Roseneath Farm, Kuitaugata, ©a Tuesday, the 11th instant. Wool. — The following cablegram, dated Ist September, is the latest to hand from the Lmdon market: — "At the wool sales prices have way Blightly, and are irregular. 9519 bales were sold to day." •Sheepskins, notwithstanding the depressed state of the wool market, were a shade firmer this week. Hides. — The low prices lately ruled have induced a demand for export, and l*te quotations are well maintained. Tallow.— On Mond»y last we disposed of 35 packages inferior to very ordinary at from 20s to 22 per cwt. We have no demand for export. Grain.— Wheat is in weak demand, except for very choice samples. Quotations — good to prime, 4s 6d to 4s SI ; inferior to medium, 3s 91 to 45 4d. Oats have been slow of sale for the past week, but to-day we note inquiries for export. . v tocks are increasing. We quote good feed at 2< to 2% Id ; milling, 2s 21 to 2s 31; seed, 2* GJ. Barley : Good qualities have met with fair inquiries, and we hare placed several lots at from 5s to 5s 3.1. Stocks in hand are very slight.
