The whole of the profits are divided amongst the assured, and bonuses to the amount of L 910 ,000 have already been allOted. The last division of profits took place in 1874, and the cash surplus then divided amounted to L 235,000, 'giving additions to policies averaging L 3 per cent, per annum on the sum assured. The. -.bonuses paid on policies becoming claims have varied from Lls per cent, on the sum assured for a policy of five years' standing to Ll5O per cent, for one of twenty-five years duration/ become vested additions to policies when they have been full five years in force.
