j: [By Telegraph.] ' Wanganui, May 25. The weather yesterday was fine and the attendance large. The Handicap Steeplechase, of 150 soys. was won by Mr Rogers's Awahoa (lOst 71b), 'Mr M'Rae's Medora (list 41b) being second, 'and Mr Campbell's Bully-for-you (lOst 101 b) third. Ten started. It was a good finish between the two first named. The Maiden Steeplechase, of 75 soys. was won easily by Mr Fleetwood's Deborah, Mr Stevens'a Don being second, and the rest of the field coming in spread eagle fashion. ' The Hack Huedle^ Rack was won by Mr Sweeney's Violet. Watts', the rider of Sloper, fell at the first hurdle past the Stand, and was injured very seriously. For the Consolation Steeplechase, Victor, Bully, and Gazelle started. A protest was entered against Victor, who won easily. * ,
