Christcotbch, May 27th. The following are the entries and weights for the Waimate Steeplechases : — Maiden : Shark, Don, Agent, Turk, Pakeha, Tim Whiffler, and Jack. For the Cup : Mickey Free, Agent, Shillelagh, Turk, Te Whetumararaa, Eversley, Fakir, and Brunette. For the Handicap : Eversley, 12st 71b ; Te Whetumarama, 12st 41b ; Shark, list- slb ; Shillelagh, list; Moose, Fakir, Brunette and Agent, each lOst 121 b; Stockman, lOst 301 b; Mickey Free, lOst 8lb; Silveratream, 19st 21b ; The Don, Turk, Jack, and Pakeha, each lOst. At the Jockey Club's meeting on Saturday evening the treasurer's statement showed a credit balance for the past year of £139 7s 1 3d, as against £2 5s the previous year, I besides which several permanent improvements >have been paid out of the current revenue and over £400 of old debts cleared off, notwithstanding the increase in the value of stakes. The club are thus in a very much better financial position than they were twelve months ago. The disqualification of O. 0. Gr'Gee, George M'Gee, and Falcon by the Auckland Club was endorsed. The application for the removal of the disqualification from M'Kay was refused,
